How it works
Offcuts have a commercial value and can be sold on
Glass companies cut and process glass orders from standard stock sheets, which are supplied by the glass manufacturer. Predominantly after these orders are cut, remnant sheets are left behind and if these sheets are not used for any other orders they are stored in the factory as offcuts. The storage/disposal of these offcuts is disruptive for many glass business owners. Promoting the benefits of selling offcuts online is about changing the opinions and views of business owners. Instead of seeing offcuts/project overruns as a problem per se, it would be great if everyone in the industry viewed them as an opportunity not only to clear them out of their factory but also to increase their bottom line through additional revenue. These offcuts have a commercial value and if stored correctly can be offered and sold to other businesses in the industry.
Glass offcuts has been created to collate and list these offcuts/project overruns and offer them online - at a competitive market related price set by the seller. The glass on offer can be ordered as an outright sale or be cut/processed to the required size where possible (depending on type of glass and only if a smaller size is required).
